Bulls chase first win on homecoming night against IMG Junior National

Parrish Community gets its next chance to end a seven-game losing streak at home Friday, with IMG Academy Junior National bringing a passing game led by senior Chase Barringer.

The Bulls are 0–7 after last week’s 52–6 loss at Sumner. The visiting Ascenders are 1–4 and have lost four straight since a 47–0 season-opening win over Zarephath Academy.

For Parrish, senior running back Jacoby Thomas remains the main source of rushing production. His coach-entered 2026 statistics on MaxPreps show 572 yards on 68 carries, an 8.4-yard average, with four rushing touchdowns and two 100-yard games.

The harder part has been turning offense into enough points. Parrish has scored 13 combined in its last three games, against Sarasota, Palmetto and Sumner. Getting more out of possessions will matter against an opponent with several productive receiving options.

Barringer has thrown for 927 yards and eight touchdowns. In IMG Junior National’s most recent game, a 32–14 loss to The St. James Performance Academy Grey on October 3, he completed 16 of 26 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Young caught six passes for 110 yards and a touchdown in that game.

My read: Parrish’s running game offers a way to keep Barringer off the field, but yards alone will not fix the scoring gap. The Bulls need possessions that finish with points.[1][2][3][4][5][7]

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, October 16, at Parrish Community High, 7505 Fort Hamer Road. It is a non-district game. The PCHS Bulletin identifies Friday as the homecoming football night, with the school’s dance following Saturday.[1][2][6]
