Parrish Community’s search for a first win will carry into district play. Sarasota beat the Bulls 48–7 on Friday, September 18, building a 34–0 halftime lead that left Parrish with too much ground to recover.

The Sailors scored 14 points in the first quarter and 20 in the second. Parrish’s seven points came in the third, when both teams added seven; Sarasota closed with another seven in the fourth. The road loss dropped the Bulls to 0–5 and lifted the Sailors to 4–1.

It was Parrish’s largest defeat of the opening five games. The Bulls have scored seven points in each of their past two outings, following the 26–7 loss to Palm Harbor University on September 11. Across the five games, Parrish has scored 53 points and allowed 163.[1][2][3]

Now comes a chance to change the direction of the season in a game that counts in the district standings. Parrish hosts Palmetto on September 25 in its 5A District 10 opener.

The Tigers arrive at 4–1 after beating Naples 38–28 on Friday. That was Palmetto’s fourth consecutive win, giving the Bulls another opponent with momentum. For Parrish, an opening district victory would give a difficult September a very different finish.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Parrish Community High. The matchup and ticket link are below.[4][5][2]
