Parrish Community got even with Lakewood Ranch on Tuesday, beating the visiting Mustangs in four sets to claim its first district volleyball victory of the season.

The Bulls won 25–22, 24–26, 25–15, 25–20. Lakewood Ranch had taken the teams’ August 27 meeting in five sets; this time, Parrish finished the job in four.

The second set left the match level at one apiece. Parrish answered with a 10-point win in the third, then closed out the fourth by five. That gave the Bulls consecutive four-set victories following their October 1 win at Braden River.

Parrish improved to 16–7 overall and 1–4 in Class 6A District 11. Three of those four district losses had gone the distance: the first Lakewood Ranch match and both meetings with Sarasota. Tuesday finally put a win alongside those close results.

For the Mustangs, the loss ended a four-match winning streak. Lakewood Ranch fell to 14–9 overall and 2–4 in the district.

Next up: Southeast visits Parrish on Thursday, October 8, with varsity scheduled for 7:15 p.m. The Bulls swept the teams’ August 25 meeting, 3–0.[1][2][3]
