Parrish Community opened the volleyball postseason with a sweep that left Lehigh short of double figures in every set. The Bulls won 25–6, 25–9, 25–7 Monday, October 12, advancing in the district tournament with their fourth consecutive victory.
Parrish improved to 18–7. Lehigh finished the match at 4–14. The Bulls allowed just 22 points across the three sets, following last week’s sweep of Southeast with another decisive result.
The turnaround is immediate: Riverview Sarasota hosts Parrish at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Both teams bring four-match winning streaks into the matchup, but the Rams offer a different test. Riverview is 16–6 and went 5–1 in regular-season district matches. Its last two results were a sweep of Venice and a five-set victory over Sarasota.
Parrish lost both regular-season meetings with Sarasota in five sets. Riverview won both of its meetings with the Sailors, also in five. Those shared opponents suggest a tougher assignment for the Bulls than Monday’s scoreline, although Parrish and Riverview have not faced one another this season.
The Bulls’ current run includes wins over Braden River, Lakewood Ranch, Southeast and now Lehigh. Three came in the closing stretch of the regular season; Monday’s win carried that momentum into the playoffs. Tonight’s match is at Riverview Sarasota, 1 Ram Way, Sarasota.[1][2][3][4]
