Two comfortable sets. Then a much tighter finish.
Parrish Community beat North Port 25–10, 25–11, 25–23 at home Thursday, September 10, extending its winning streak to three matches. The Bulls improved to 7–5 with their second home sweep of the week.
North Port scored 21 points across the first two sets, then 23 in the third alone. Parrish still finished the job in three, sending the Bobcats to 3–3.[1][2]
The run began with a 2–0 tournament win over Saint Stephen’s Episcopal on September 5. Parrish followed it with Tuesday’s 3–0 win over Manatee and Thursday’s North Port sweep. Across those three victories, the Bulls have won all eight sets.
That makes five wins in seven matches since back-to-back five-set losses to Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota. Every one of those five wins has been a sweep.
The turnaround has come outside district play. Parrish remains 0–3 in its district, with a September 29 home rematch against Sarasota offering its next chance to change that record.[2]
The Bulls visit Palmetto on Tuesday, September 15, at 7 p.m. The teams meet again at Parrish on September 24.
Parrish has put some distance between itself and .500. Tuesday is a chance to carry that momentum onto someone else’s floor.[2]
