The jobs that keep a school day moving
School jobs extend well beyond the classroom. Manatee County’s district is recruiting the people who drive buses, repair equipment, prepare meals and support student health at an operations job fair on Thursday, October 15.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to noon at Wakeland Support Center, 1812 27th Street East in Bradenton. Parrish Community High shared the announcement, but the fair takes place at Wakeland—not the high school.
Bus-driver starting pay is listed at $24.06 an hour. The district gives a $28.19 starting rate for electrician and HVAC positions. Those figures apply to the named roles; the announcement does not supply a rate for every opening.
Transportation openings also include bus attendants and vehicle mechanics. Food-service workers and cafeteria managers are on the list, along with carpenters, project assistants and custodians. Health positions include licensed practical nurses, substitute RNs and LPNs, and health aides.
These are districtwide opportunities. The notice does not identify which vacancies would be based in Parrish.
The district recommends checking in online before the event to leave more time for interviews. Its announcement links to that form and an application option for people who cannot attend.[1]
