The first homecoming deadline comes this week
Parrish High’s homecoming dance is still more than two weeks away, but the first deadline is tomorrow: students have through Wednesday, September 30, to buy the $55 dance-ticket and class-shirt bundle.
The Student Government Association has chosen “Under the Lanterns” for this year’s celebration, according to Rebecca Shone and Alice Flaming’s September 28 report for the PCHS Bulletin. Homecoming week leads into the Friday, October 16 football game and the Saturday, October 17 dance.
The Bulletin lists the separate prices as $20 for a dance ticket and $45 for a class shirt. For students buying both, the bundle saves $10. Students purchase through the homecoming Schoology page; the school’s announcement below provides the joining details.[1]
Jerseys first, school pride to finish
The dress-up schedule starts before the main celebration week. Friday, October 9 calls for a jersey and jean shorts. On Tuesday, October 13, students can coordinate matching outfits with a friend or group.
Wednesday, October 14 pairs backyard-grill dad looks with soccer-mom outfits. Thursday is for class shirts or class colors, and Friday, October 16 is the school-pride day.
SGA’s Cheyenne Crabtree encouraged students to take part in the themed days and attend the game, the Bulletin reported. That gives students several ways to join in before Saturday’s dance.[1]
Friday under the lights, Saturday under the lanterns
The football schedule identifies the October 16 visitor as IMG Academy Junior National, with kickoff at 7 p.m. at Parrish Community High, 7505 Fort Hamer Road.
The school’s September 28 announcement gives the dance date but does not list its hours, guest rules or dress requirements.[1][2]
