The deadline comes before the event
If a job at Parrish Community High is on your list, this is a week to act. The district’s September 24 virtual hiring fair is still ahead, but four advertised openings at the school are scheduled to close before then.
The official district careers portal listed these Parrish Community High positions on September 17:
• Teacher Aide, ESE — job 16575; closes September 20.
• Teacher, IND/SC — job 16574; closes September 20.
• Teacher, Mathematics, HS — job 16576; closes September 20.
• Support Facilitator — job 16603; closes September 22.
The first three were posted September 14; the support-facilitator opening was posted September 16. Those are application closing dates, not interview appointments.[1]
Read beyond “teacher aide”
The aide opening is listed as full-time and regular, with a one-on-one Exceptional Student Education job description. Its duties include individual instruction under a teacher’s supervision and assistance with student personal care. This is hands-on student support work.
The posted qualifications include being at least 21, a high school diploma or equivalent, and either passing the paraprofessional test or having at least 60 college credits. The description also calls for maintaining specified crisis-management training. Read the complete posting before deciding whether it fits your experience.
My advice: use the job number when you contact the district. Similar-sounding titles can hide very different responsibilities, and the actual posting is the best starting point for a useful conversation.[1]
What the September 24 fair offers
The School District of Manatee County’s virtual Teacher & Paraprofessional Job Fair runs Thursday, September 24, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The announcement covers 2026–27 vacancies across VPK through 12th grade, including teachers, ESE teachers, paraprofessionals and teacher aides.
The district asks applicants to register early for a preferred interview slot. It also advertises teacher-certification pathways, professional development and new-teacher support. If you are changing careers, those are worth asking about during the conversation.
You can apply directly without attending the fair. For the Parrish openings above, that is the practical first step: open the careers portal, search “Parrish” or the job ID, and review the requirements and current deadline. An interview event later in the month does not extend an earlier closing date.
Keep a copy of the posting you apply to and bring specific questions about the assignment, hours and qualifications. You will get more out of the conversation than from a general “Are you hiring?”[2][1]
