Ryan Davis gave Parrish Community two top-six individual finishes at Saturday’s Tri-County Invitational, taking fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke and sixth in the 50 freestyle.
Davis clocked 1:03.33 in the breaststroke and 23.01 in the sprint on October 10, according to results reported by Emma Moon of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Lakewood Ranch’s Daniel Snitkovsky won both events, in 59.83 and 21.70, respectively.
Parrish finished sixth in the boys’ standings and tenth in the girls’ standings. Riverview won both divisions.
The Bulls also placed sixth in the boys’ 200 medley relay in 1:53.82 and sixth in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:44.88. Their 400 freestyle relay finished seventh in 4:07.93.[1]
Before Saturday’s invitational, two younger Bulls had reached a milestone of their own. Freshman Griffin Harter and sophomore Leonardo Pace each swam 59.30 in the 100 freestyle at the September 30 Manatee County Championship, breaking a minute for the first time, according to Paige Harlow’s October 8 report for the school’s Bulletin. Junior Kaleb Nonnemaker recorded 5:41.75 in the 500 freestyle at that meet.
Parrish’s boys finished second at counties, with runner-up results in all three relays. The girls placed seventh, and the Bulls finished second in combined scoring among ten teams. Those are county-meet results, separate from Saturday’s wider Tri-County field.
The next postseason target is October 24 at Selby Aquatic Center, the district date and venue listed in the school’s report. Coach Courtney Lancaster told the Bulletin that training would focus on each swimmer’s district events.[2]
