A date for the steak-and-bread crowd

Parrish’s Texas Roadhouse has put a date on dinner: November 23. The company’s location page now advertises that opening for the restaurant at 8245 Moccasin Wallow Road.

I’m all for another answer to the nightly “what are we doing for dinner?” debate. This one comes with a fairly straightforward pitch: steak, sides and bread. The difficult part may be remembering that the bread is supposed to be the beginning of the meal.

November 23 is the advertised opening date, so this belongs on the coming-soon list for now. There is still time to settle the much more personal question of what you’d order first.[1][3]

Where I’d start

I’d make the first order simple: a sirloin and two sides, with Rattlesnake Bites for the table if everyone is willing to share. On the chain’s national menu, those bites combine jalapeño and jack cheese in a fried appetizer with a Cajun dip. That sounds like a better conversation starter than asking everyone to explain their steak temperature.

The same menu offers a New York strip, filet and ribeye, along with half- and full-slab rib dinners. For someone who would rather skip steak, there is salmon with lemon-pepper sauce or chicken topped with mushrooms, onions and a choice of cheese or gravy. Those are national-menu options; Parrish’s opening menu and prices will determine the final order.

My pick for a mixed table would be one shared appetizer, individual main courses and enough restraint to leave room for the food we actually ordered. I make no promises about the restraint.[2]

What the chain is bringing

Texas Roadhouse describes its kitchen approach around steaks cut in-house, sides made from scratch and freshly baked bread. That is the appeal I see for a regular dinner stop: a recognizable meal with enough choices for a family to agree on the restaurant before agreeing on dinner.

I’d keep the first visit uncomplicated. No birthday required, no elaborate occasion needed—just a meal out once the doors open.[3]

The useful details

The Parrish page lists regular hours of 3–10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3–11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Sunday. In other words, weekend lunch is on the schedule; weekday lunch is not. Those posted hours do not establish a separate opening-day ceremony or first-seating time.

The listed phone number is 941-292-7510. The location page also links to the company’s hiring portal.[1]
