Another address in BayCare’s expansion
BayCare’s proposed medical office center at U.S. 301 and Red Rooster Road is headed to the Manatee County Planning Commission on Thursday, October 15. The application seeks room for up to 90,000 square feet of medical offices.
For anyone trying to keep track of the medical buildings arriving north of the river, the address matters. This proposal, the recently opened HealthHub and the future hospital represent different projects at different stages. A hearing about one does not change the opening status of the others.[1][2][3]
What is proposed at Red Rooster Road
BayCare Properties LLC is seeking office zoning for about 9.67 acres of a 10.80-acre parcel at the western corner of the intersection. The application also requests approval of a preliminary site plan; 1.13 acres would retain residential zoning.
The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to county commissioners. The notice supplies no opening date or list of practices. For neighbors, the next meaningful milestone is that recommendation and the proposal’s path to the county board.[1]
The HealthHub is already serving patients
The BayCare HealthHub at 6620 Moccasin Wallow Road in Palmetto opened September 14, according to BayCare. Its more than 46,000 square feet bring primary and specialty care, outpatient laboratory work and imaging together. That is the operating outpatient center residents can look up now.
BayCare lists general hours of 7 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday, while noting that individual services have their own schedules and some weekend availability. The location page links directly to primary care, laboratory and imaging information.
The proposed U.S. 301 office space should not be counted as another set of appointments already available. Square footage describes the size being requested; it does not tell residents which doctors would practice there or when their schedules would open.[2][4][1]
The hospital has a longer timeline
BayCare Hospital Manatee remains under construction on Moccasin Wallow Road, with a 2028 opening planned. BayCare says the hospital is designed to begin with 154 private patient rooms and allow expansion to 207 beds.
Its planned services include obstetrics, neonatal care, cardiology and surgery. Those hospital services are a different addition from outpatient office space. The September HealthHub opening announcement also reaffirmed the hospital’s 2028 timetable.
For Parrish households following the area’s growth, this is the useful way to read the three projects: outpatient services available now, hospital care planned for 2028, and a separate office proposal entering a public hearing.[3][2][1]
Thursday’s hearing
The hearing starts at 9 a.m. October 15 in Patricia M. Glass Chambers, 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton. The case is PLN2510-0073. The county’s notice provides participation details and identifies public.comments@mymanatee.org for written comments.[1]
